SMALL TALK!!!

SMALL TALK!!!!! according to Google small talk – is a polite conversation about unimportant or uncontroversial matters, especially as engaged in social occasions.

I HATE HATE HATE small talk!!! I would rather stay at home with my  4 year old cousin and watch Peppa pig and laugh when Peppa pig falls in a muddy puddle other than being engaged in small talk.

I enjoy deep conversations. I noticed that i hate small talk because my energy levels are usually at zero after the conversation. I feel like small talk almost always leads to absolutely nothing apart from talking about shallow stuff, you feel tired, you feel worn out mind wise and even your body feels so drained.

But when i have conversations with people and it is big (lol) talk, i am so engaged and i am able to talk, express how i feel about the topic and i get to learn so much about someone that way other than the small talk.

I crave big talk so much, but do not get me wrong i appreciate a laid back conversation about how the day is/ was or other things that people talk about that are shallow and feel draining most times.

BUT if it is a hello, how are you? how have you been? because you guys have met maybe at the pavement, that is totally okay but if we text every so often or see each other so frequently we can’t ask each other how we are every single day alah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

some of the conversation starters:

1. Who is one person you would want to see  if you knew you were dying tomorrow? and why?
2. if you knew this was your last year, what are some of the things you would love to do before you die?
3. what is that new habit you want to form?
4. what is your biggest fear?
5. what do you spend most of your time doing?

Among other things, if you are like me and hate small talk, maybe you can employ some of these questions in your next meeting or text lol!!!! if they are interested they will respond if not WE MOVE!!!!!!!!!!
